Mobile phone signal booster

Got a blackberry on T-mobile from work but reception where I live is terrible. Someone said get a signal booster? What is this, anyone know?

I have seen those things you stick inside your phone under the battery but there is mixed reviews on whether they are any good.

What is the alternative?

The 'signal boosters' that you stick on your phone are a scam and don't work.

The only way you'll get a better signal is with an active booster i.e. a powered amplifier. Have a look at ebay item 150355283187 (not mine btw).

Thanks for this, I got the impression those stick on things not v good.

So this means installing something on my roof/in the loft? Seems like a lot of effort when really my company should have asked me what network I wanted!

But if you have NO signal do they work or will they only bump it from one bar to two?

Am sorely tempted, reception for all networks is rubbish here but that one covers mine and DH's...
