Should I 'do' anything?

Will it short circuit something & kill my laptop?

Is it a disaster?

I can see it walking around under the words

I have never heard of a thunder fly before
And I had no idea it was possible to get underneath the screen!

Eugh how on earth are you going to get it out.....?

Yurtgirl · 13/07/2009 22:24

In a quest for knowledge I just googled 'Thunder fly' - first link I clicked on here has a post from someone saying that they too have one stuck (permanently Im sorry to say)

Not positive news but at least you know you are not alone

PerfectPrefect · 13/07/2009 22:27

We had this at work on a couple of the LCD monitors.

They wander around for a bit and eventually die.

If you are lucky it will die in a place where it doesn't luck like a comma every time you type a document. If not it is a PITA but not painful.

Insanity · 13/07/2009 22:32

We had this happen at work, to the extent we were not allowed the windows open during thunder fly season!
I did read somewhere that you can shine a bright light at the side of the laptop in the hope it will head out to the light, or like others have posted, just hope it dies and falls down to the bottom of the screen

Katymac · 13/07/2009 22:33

Things are OK(ish)

Calmer but not calm (if that makes sense)

I hate thunder flies - I had my front door painted & they decided to commit suicide in the wet paint

Cut and pasted for yours truly hth

I had one couple of days ago - I pushed hard on the screen & now have a squished fly surrounded by a liquid crystal halo in my screen. Not clever. If he's gone - he might be nesting?

Katymac · 15/07/2009 09:17

I will remember not to do that.........what a horrid thought about nesting
