What are RSS feeds?

& why when Outlook asked me to synchronise them I thought 'Why not?'

So now my email doesn't work

Help??

RSS feeds are web feeds in XML format used to automatically publish frequently updated stuff (like blogs or news headlines) without your having to go back and check the original page for updates.

Which version of Outlook do you have -- 2003 or 2007?

You could try following these instructions to disable RSS feeds in your Outlook.

Right, so when you say your email doesn't work, what happens now?

When I press Send & receive I get a list of RSS errors

If we keep this bumped someone with Outlook 2007 should be able to help. I only have Outlook 2003 and the full-on RSS support didn't come in until Outlook 2007.

and you've been through tools-account settings-rss feeds and removed each one?

I cleared them every time I try to fix them

They just turn up again

i know you've already done this, have you done this and closed outlook, shutdown computer and restarted?

Disable Outlook?s RSS Sync:

1. Open Outlook 2007
2. Click the Tools menu
3. Click Options
4. Select the Other tab
5. Click the Advanced Options button
6. Uncheck Sync RSS feeds to the Common Feed List
7. Click OK X 2

this is pretty hardcore if you feel brave enough to try it

otherwise, try deleting your windows common feeds, which you can do in vista. but will clear out any Intervet Explorer 7 feeds as well. this is summed up half way through this page.
