You can set up emails so that they are forwarded, if that's what you mean - and you can either keep a copy at the original destination or delete it.

If you mean can you hijack an email so the intended recipient doesn't get it, it's probably illegal.

If both addresses are yours, yes.

What email do you use? On Googlemail/Gmail it's under 'settings' - 'forwarding'. There'a just a box to fill in to say 'forward a copy of incoming mail to and then options to keep or delete it in the gmail folder.

I am not doing anything illegal!

Tis not me. Just suspicious about something and wondering if the emails have been set to go somewhere else.

No, only one address is mine.

You/they would need access to the email account to set it up to forward somewhere else - so it depends if you think someone would have the information they needed to get into the account.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 29/06/2009 16:13

They would.

Do you mean that emails being sent to you are being diverted elsewhere by a third party OR that emails you are sending are being diverted?

Miamla · 29/06/2009 16:15

it would help if you told us what you thought was happening. do you suspect emails are being diverted away from your email address? in which case, Fred (random name of person who has set it up) would have needed to log onto your email account and set the forward up. what are you using? hotmail? gmail? outlook? is it possible that Fred did have access to your account?

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 29/06/2009 16:20

I think emails I am sending are not arriving where they are meant too.

Any chance the recipient has changed their email address or just doesn't use that email address any more?

I know I have at least 1 old email address out there that I never officially "closed" but just stopped using for whatever reason

PortAndLemon · 29/06/2009 16:24

So you think that emails you are sending to [email protected] are instead going to [email protected]? Or you think that emails you are sending to [email protected] are just disappearing into the ether?

It would (almost certainly, depending on provider) be possible for someone with the account details for the [email protected] address to set up rules that automatically forwarded all emails, or just those from fab@bakergirl, to [email protected]. Or to set up rules that just deleted them.

Do you think it's your emails in particular being targeted? Could you set up an alternative free email address and try emailng from that?

I have no idea tbh but I am giving up now.

They know where I am if they do want me.

I was just curious really.

Thanks.
