why won't Twitter let me follow anyone?

So I signed up. I'm looking people up on there and clicking on "follow", then nothing happens. It doesn't update the "following" bit on my profile.

Should I do be doing something else?

I knew I was too old for this...

None of the people I'm clicking on have that privacy thing set, btw

Sometimes it takes quite a while to update your status I have found.

Oh so the fact that I've now selected some people 4 or 5 times isn't going to work against me is it?

That's a relief though - I was sure it was all my fault.

How are you finding it squeaver? One minute only a few following, then next abbi12356 and loiusa88903, and OMG. Why? Some right odd folk out there in twit land who want to follow you for no good reason! I know you can block them etc, but it is all slightly new and odd.
