Can't open flippin Word document that has been e-mailed to me...

and I need to read it tonight... Any suggestions?

is it a .docx file ? If so can you save it as a previous version .

It's a .doc and I don't have the option to save it! It won't open or save it when I try to view it. It has been forwarded from one person to another (I think I am the 3rd or 4th person) - would that be the cause?

What exactly does it say when you try to open it.

Also try opening a blank word document and dragging the dodgy one into it. It will ask you what you want to do and you can choose COPY.

Also if you have any other word processors like OpenOffice etc then try opening it in one of them

ould you believe it - I left it running and it faffed about for over 30 mins... then saved it!
