Anyone know about emailing China?

Am trying to send/receive an email (I have hotmail) from a contact in China but having problems. Anyone know if this is possible or does the system block hotmail to/from China?
I have put their address (yahoo.com.cn) in my contact list.
Anyone know anything about this?

I email friends in China regularly and have never had any problems....(yahoo to yahoo though)

Thanks - that is hopeful for me then. It is tricky to know if the system is blocking the emails or if we have some other problem.

I would try sending from a different email address if you have one.

A number of sites and internet services are blocked in China from my understanding of the recent Tiananmen Square coverage.

i have family in china - i have no trouble but other people have - i use their business address that is registered in the uk, but hotmail doesn't always get through?

am sure there was a simpler way of saying all that
