HP scanner

Have installed it, checked it is plugged in yet it won't work . Message says it can't detect the scanner but it is showing on Control Panel. Any ideas ?

is it plugged into a USB port, and is there any evidence of te drivers for it in the stuff you installed?

And have you tried the all-time star fix, switch the entire lot off / shut down computer, keep the computer plugged into the scanner, and restart them all?
