Why is my scanner suddenly refusing to work??

Lexmark x4550 wireless printer/scanner.

I have had it for about 12 months maybe, never a problem. Last time I scanned was about 7 weeks ago.

Now it keeps saying it can't find the application list

It prints fine still.

Can only suggest reinstalling it's software. I expect it came with a CD.

It may be complaining that it needs to know what software on your PC is suitable to send the scanned picture to. Does it have a menu on the PC to choose software from?

There is a patch on the Lexmark website for this. I would give a direct link, but it insists you go through selecting country etc before going to support.

When you get to the bit where you select your printer put it in as Lexmark/x4550 and it should take you to it.

Oh i have one of these things. I have had nothing but problems with it. I have had to do the instal disk a few times since i had it. Each time i do this it hangs for about an hour before i get fed up and close it. Then it works again.

About the only good thing about it is the copy mode!
