There are somethings on youtube I would love to download. Is this possible?

Thanks

Go to keepvid.com then copy the url into the box and download. You can rename it before you save it to your computer.

Thanks, and are we meant to be able to do this?

eh? Do you mean my instructions weren't very clear? or do you mean is it legal?

Sorry if instructions crap. I will make easier if you want...

  1. Open up another tab or page running at the same time as youtube.
  2. Open up the youtube video that you want and then highlight and copy the url (the www address in full at the top of your page)
  3. In your second internet page open up www.keepvid.com
  4. in the box at the top of the home page paste the url address from youtube then choose the speed to download it (I usually choose the low quality option). It will then copy the file across to wherever you want to store it.
  5. It will then open the file using your default media player when you double click it

I meant whether it is legal or not!

ooo sorry

no idea if it's legal - never even thought about it. I use it at school all the time and there are instructions on big teaching websites about how to download youtube stuff so I assume it's ok.

Another way is to download RealPlayer version 11 or above and that gives you a 'download' option when you hover your cursor over the image.

If you use Mozilla Firefox rather than Internet Explorer you can get an add-on called Video Download Helper which makes this very easy.

Technically ripping these videos from You-Tube is illegal!
