Facebook photo - tagging and group naming help please

Hi, am new to facebook. Have just uploaded a group photo. When I tag it, the person I've tagged could be anyone of about 5 people around them. Can you make it more accurate and if so how?
Secondly, if you want to add names of people on the photo who aren't on facebook, therefore not tagging, how do you do it? Am usually pretty good at working this stuff out but can't see how.

i thought you clicked on there face to tag?

I did, but it brings up a big square, so when you roll the cursor over the photo, it has the same name for about. Can you tag someone who is not on fb? Perhaps that's how you add names of people not on fb?
