Need advice about possibly dodgy Ebay DS game purchase

I've just bought GBA Pokemon Emerald on Ebay for DS1's birthday - I know it works on the DS. However, I've just noticed it is coming from Singapore and is NTSC format.

Have I been a wally? I got over-excited as I was involved in a bidding war for another (UK) copy and lost. Saw this one and went for it without reading properly - should probably have been suspicious as there were no other bids and I got it for a fiver less than the one I'd just lost.

Even if it is compatible I suppose I may have bought a cheap fake copy...sigh...

I bought a NTSC game for my DD's DS, it works fine, there are no region compatibility problems (at least I've never heard of any)

Oh good! Thanks MaryBS. That's one potential problem solved then. Now just have to find out whether it's a fake (there's a very helpful review on Amazon telling you what to watch out for - which unfortunately I didn't read until afterwards!)

Even if it's a fake it may work perfectly well. If it was copied illegally, but you bought it in good faith and it works fine you could just leave it.

If it is coming from Singapore it is most likely a fake.

It'll probably work fine though. My Lego Indiana was a Hong Kong version and it's been fine. Lego Batman and Prof Layton both worked fine too.

I've had 3 games from Hong Kong. Neither have had the correct instruction booklet but instead had a booklet showing a kind of "walk through". On Lego Indie, the printing on the box insert was ever so slightly fuzzy - particularly the "TM" sign.

There's no manual at all with this - probably something that should have alerted me . At the time I didn't think it mattered as DS1 has played the game before at his cousin's house, so knows what to do.
