Why is it my usually fast laptop is on a real go slow

It is only a couple of months old and it was really speedy and now its so slow - help! What can I do to speed things up.

Is it the internet itself that is slow (to connect to pages etc), or it it your programmes that are slow (ie, on opening up, starting up etc)?

Ooh I have had this prob lately as well. mine ws the pages loading impossibly slowly, any commands taking forever to process (for instance 'start' tab, 20 second delay)

I uninstalled one of my anti spyware programmes and it seems to have cleared up, though unsure what the real problem was.

It was reluctant to do links as well.
