can anyone recommend software to use/download from net that will copy files from ipod to laptop?

i have googled, and found various ones, but would prefer to use something recommended by a mumsnetter. if anyon knows anything about this, please let me know. i have dsisters old ipod with lots of lovely songs on it, but no way to get them off there,

I think I used one from the Apple website. It was complicated in that I couldn't explain to someone else how to do it but if you followed the very comprehensive instructions it works - but you won't know how

here this is what I used. Basically you use your ipod as an external hard drive. It works (well it did for me)!

Oh hang on I think I have found you how to do it on a mac I will find the pc page.

no,,, i no longer have access to the old computer, so cant make it do manual update

harley, there are 380 songs on the ipod, so i guess not that many. and i thought that was a lot.

i have downloaded 100 songs. it wants me to register and pay twenty dollars. need to think about that before i do. but it has worked a dream. harley it let you rip 100? or 1000? coz i only got a hundred.

now i need to work out how to put the songs into some osrt of order for me to listen to. next ipod challenge.
