is this a worm type thing?

also, on fb, got a message from someone who never sends me messages, to apparently everyone of her friends, telling us to check out kronked.net. i googled it, and got lots of hits from people saying they had not sent it from their fb accounts. any ideas please?

wmv is a windows media file I think (Windows version of mp4).

Doesn't gurantee it being safe though.

Not sure what kronked.net is, but probably best to ignore it as when someone gets a virus it sometimes spreads by causing emails/messages to everyone in the address book.

As SlightlyMadSwineFlu says (like the name) wmv is a windows media file, but there is a small possibility it can hide a virus type thing so if not sent from someone you know with an explanation then don't open it.

All attachments should come with an explanation anyway.

Also on attachments watch out for file types that are not what they seem. If someone calls a file somereallyreallylonglonglongname.jpg.exe you can miss the fact that it ends in .exe and think it's a picture.
