ipod virgin, help please

am a complete virgin, and also a bit scared of the thing, i have downloaded itunes, registered the ipod, put in a card number. but now scared
how do i put songs on it? and do i really have to pay 79pence per song? seems a bit excessive
also, is it possible to put songs that are saved on the computer onto the ipod?

As long as you have a cd drive jobby you can upload your cd's. You don't have to buy from iTunes.

Once you have loaded cd's onto iTunes, attach iPod with iTunes open and it should start to sync automatically (at least it does on my iTouch).

the cd's were saved on the computer using windows media so dont appear on th eitunes library.

Try and drag them across to itunes.

ooh, there my experience ends. I'd end up re-uploading onto itunes.

Hopefully someone more experienced can tell you if you can move them...

dsis has baby sisters old ipod, which was synced to other sisters old computer, which has since died..... (RIP) is their anyway of getting the songs that are on that ipod, onto my ipod? first o nto my laptop, and then hopefully onto my computer?
