I want to set up a social network for people who have connections to the holiday village in which I live. They all ask me questions and I want them to talk to each other! But they come from various countries - all speak english though - and they don't know each other. It would be to answrer questions like:-
"Anyone know a good local plumber?"
"The roadworks are finished and the road has re-opened"
"The dates of this year's festival are..."
"Anyone willing to rent out there house to my visitors?"

etc

Does anyone know where is a good place to do this? Its got to be accessible and they need to be able to talk to each other not just to me. i thought of facebook but having just had a hunt around it, I got thoroughly confused!

Wouldn't you be better off creating a community, via a bulletin board? phpBB is a good place to start.

Thanks. I've never heard of it but I'll check it out.

I second that suggestion. I have a friend who set one up for a specific hobby, I'm pretty sure it was the one SnuffedIt linked to. It worked really well as a place for like minded people and friends to discuss their common interest.
You can break it down into different topics such as local services; festivals; property available etc etc, or people can just use it to chat to each other/send private messages.
