If you do find you need a new keyboard for laptop let me know - tis easy enough.

If you are still in warranty, most companies will actually replace it for you (which is good, as new keyboards are not cheap actually!)

thanks fury

it seems fine now, but obviously DD dancing on top of it earlier pressed something that made it do something weird. she has the knack of bringing up all sorts with her random pressing (or dancing) on buttons

The shortcut for Find Computer on my laptop is to hold down Ctrl+windows key + f , so it looks like your D D had managed to get the Ctrl & windows keys temporarily stuck. There are various accessibility options which allow you to 'stick down' keys like shift & ctrl so you can type with one hand- they are usually activated by pressing the key several times in a row or by holding them down for several seconds. You can deactivate this option but I've forgotten exactly how - I'm still in bed & on my iphone atm, so I can't check, but try searching your Help section for 'sticky keys'

thanks rustybear.

I have cleaned up the keyboard as I have had a few keyboard issues recently......and found a bit of malteser underneath the control and the windows key.

Sticky keys indeed
