Want to download a podcast so ipod type format onto mp3 player.... how?

is there a way to do this or is it tough titty and i will finally have to buy an ipod?

Reading into it, you may find it easier using Juice as your podcast aggregator than iTunes if you're not using an iPod. It's still completely free.

its just a packard bell audio key so im reckoning nada to it working

on my playlist once ive copied it accross it says its a M4A file whateer one of those is

Are you using iTunes?

The other thing to try is to find the file on your computer and rename it to mp4: What is the m4a file format?

Ah, try the mp3 versions on this link - chances are it's just your mp3 player can't cope with mp4 format.
