Help windows reinstalling everytime laptop is switched off

DD pulled the lead out of the laptop last night .
Since then whenever we switch it off everything is lost .
Windows reinstalls everything and when I get onto the internet everything is lost bookmarks ,passwords etc .

Any ideas anyone it is driving me mad .

Is the restore disk in the computer? It could be set up to boot from a disk as a default - if it is, take it out & it should stop doing it.

Otherwise, I'm not sure, sorry... Will let you know if I think of anything else.
