So, on the new facebook layout do I no longer see if people have made new friends?

This used to appear on my news feed but no longer does. Can I get it back?

I hadn't noticed it disappear!

MrsFogi · 31/03/2009 19:47

Maybe none of my friends have made any new friends before the re-look however on looking at some of them they have.

Noone's going to help me. I no longer know when one of my friends has made a new friend as it doesn't show up on my news feed and you just don't care!

lol, i feel your pain MrsFogi, but alas I cant help you as i've only been on it a short while and i couldn't even find my wall for 3 days! anyway it was buried under my profile, so maybe your news feed will be under 'home' thats where mine is.

MrsFogi · 02/04/2009 22:41

I have my news feed/homepage but no news on friends making friends and that was one of the best bits about fb.

I've noticed that too. not sure if you can get it back

MrsFogi · 02/04/2009 23:51

But surely it's the main way you continue to add friends - someone finds someone who you happen to know too. I don't understand why fb has done this!

rubbish isn't it? I had a trawl last night to see if it could be rectified. I found myself smirking at some of the incomprehensible rubbish in the help section - which seems to have been written for people who dedicate their lives to fb, rather than people who might have a quick look in the morning and evening - but didn't find an answer.

hatwoman · 03/04/2009 09:03

I've just emailed them about it - if you go to help (buried at the bottom of either the home page or profile - can't remember which) you can provide feedback on the new layout.

Tis crapola isn't it, especially since the other way of finding peole you know (people you may know section) is just so bloody random. The only way I can think of is time consuming, but keep an eye on all your closest friends profiles as it still pops up on their walls under 'recent activity'. That way you shouldn't miss anyone important. Or just wait for people to find you

MrsFogi · 05/04/2009 22:30

I'm not bothering to look on fb since the new layout (leaves more time for mn ) there is no way I'm trawling through friends' recent activity. It seems a crazy move for fb as surely this was a way that fb networks continued to expand.
