Help needed to get disc out of the laptop!

I've got a disc stuck in the laptop and it's not coming out!
I've tried tipping it up and tapping it and nothing is happening.I can't see it or hear it rattling! Any ideas please,or will I have to take it to PC World in the morning?

assume you mean the cd drive is opening but the disc is stuck? or is the whole thing refusing to open?

It's opening and closing fine but the disc has vanished!

No,it's definately inside as I put it in there myself.
I went to watch a friend's wedding dvd last night and that's what is inside it.
I've found a local pc chap who I'm hoping can get the back off and the disc out for me.
Will ring him shortly.
