Another pc query - Spyware

Have reinstalled Spyware Doctor and it is telling me it requires a reboot and scan randomly several times a day . There is no option to ignore or close the window other than to reboot. Can anyone suggest how to adjust the settings to avoid this so often please.

Get rid of it and load up Adaware from Lavasoft.de - it's free and does the same thing, only at start up though and does not require reboots.

Thanks, when we ran this before it didn't use to do this . We've subscribed too so loathe to uninstall.

Well I'd say switch to adaware too, but in the meantime I 'think' you can choose to do manual updates. If so you can do them say once or twice a week when it's convenient.

It should only be rebooting when it updates the program, but it sounds like they are bringing out program updates too often.

actually 'several times a day' sounds wrong to me anyway. Maybe a file is corrupted and it's trying to update over and over and never quite succeeding. Try the manual update, but you might need to uninstall and reinstall it.

Thanks , funnily it has been ok since I last posted, perhaps an update or having fixed the main infections has sorted it ! Fingers crossed
