Help me with my satnav please...?

It's new. We're fuckwits not used to it.

I wanted to pre-plan a route using it. It has an 'itinerary' function which seems made for doing this (but it also has a 'plan a route' function...)

So I put in all the points I want to use as 'waypoints'.

And it STILL takes me through Paris.

How can I make it avoid Paris completely (and not just skirt round the edges...)
I can't work out the 'route avoiding' function at all...

I think it is a TomTom 530 Go. I want to do this rather than do every stage en route so I can be absolutely sure before I set off that I am using the best route, not just the one it thinks is best. We will, of course, be using a map also but want the help while driving.

And, hey, geeks, don't tell me to RTFM

ok, look at a map.
note the number of the motorway you want to get on to avoid paris

when on the motorway - type in your destination - and let it re-route for you

no - i havent used the functions that you have described - but its what i would do becuase it - re-routes anyway.
