Open Office

Related to my question about buying a new laptop, does anyone have experience of open office please? in particular its compatibility with microsoft office. If i were given an msoffice presentation, would i be able to see it with open office?

I use open office and dont have any problems. You just need to remember to save you Open Office documents as MS Office documents if you want others to be able to read them.

openoffice is fine to use - however moving between that and MS office can sometimes be a bit tricky. Formatting sometimes gets screwed up - particularly colours.

If I were going to do a presentation - I would make sure I had time to check through it on msoffice first so that you could correct any glitches.
