Hi, this will probably very easy but for me I have no idea. I have been using email all day fine and then I have an error message come up when I try to receive emails. The message reads:

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: -ERR Cannot connect to POP server 212.74.100.190 (212.74.100.190:110), connect error 1006.

I can send emails but not receive. Grateful for any help you can give.

Oh I had this problem.

I use Orange and had to go on to the web-based e-mail (rather than my outlook account) and delete a whole load of the spam e-mails that were there.

Once I'd done that, my e-mails started coming through again.

Littlefish, thanks for responding. How do I go onto my web-based e-mail?

Who runs your e-mail account? Orange? AOL? etc.

Tiscali is my ISP - does that sound right? Sorry not very technical at all. thanks

Nor am I!

Try going to the Tiscali website and see if there is a place that you can access your e-mail on their home page. You will have to put in your e-mail address and password.

No idea if it will work, but it's worth a try!

I'm with tiscali, and the problem is with their mail server. They are working on it they say.

Thanks so much all. That's what I love about MN. You wait only a very short time for your issue to be resolved.
