Watching films through laptop on tv using hdmi cable - was working perfectly but now

we keep getting breaks on the tv screen, tried a number of films and it keeps happening but was fine before today, what can this be? Ive checked the cable is in correct and it is.

What is an hdmi cable? Would love to watch internet tv on TV screen not laptop but totally ignorant.

look for hdmi cable on ebay - connect one end to hdmi slot on laptop and the other to hdmi slot on tv - its fab! So easy and the cable is cheap I think I paid £1.99 for 5M plus p+p.
