I love Firefox but it keeps freezing if I have more than 1 window open and it seems to be generally uncooperative.

I do not want to revert back to IE but what other options are there?

Is Safari any good on a PC? I really dislike Apple software usually but I'm willing to try anything that works well.

What version of firefox are you using? might be worth reinstalling etc or upgrading to the latest version (if you haven't already) - it should be the most stable thing out there. Also do you mean 'new window' or 'new tab' - tabbed browsing is much more efficient. Also if you have any add-on plugins it may be worth disabling them and seeing whether you see any improvement in performance - as they might be the problem, not the core browser itself.

Thanks MrsJ - Firefox was updated last week, I think, so I have the newest version.

I do both tabbed and window browsing - maybe there was just too much going on.

Will see about reinstalling it later

Try Opera. It has a few quirks, but the speed dial feature is great. Combine it with Privoxy for ad free browsing.

I had same problem with Firefox. Love it as a browser but the new updates just don't work on my pooter and its really slow, try opening Firefox in safe mode and running without the add ons as it could be one of your add ons that is not compatible.

I am currently using Google Chrome which is way faster than Firefox or IE. I have just upgraded my IE to IE8 ehich is way better than IE 7.

Ooo, Google chrome - I did wonder about that before.

Thanks
