Can you talk to me about netbooks?

I've decided to buy a netbook and thought it would be easy to choose which one to go for but didn't realise there was so many to choose from. Can anybody recommend me a decent model for surfing net, keeping in touch with email and basic word processing.

I have a Samsung NC10, it is gorgeous. it has excellent battery life, 7 hours, very light and portable.

It takes a bit of getting used to not seeing so much on screen and scrolling a lot. Most of them don't run Vista as it takes up too much processing power, but Vista's a bit shit by all accounts so it's not really a problem.

That's the same as DH has and he's vey happy with it

I quite like the NC10 and I've found it in pink which guarantees the DH wont try claim it

This Compaq Mini-Note looks like a bit of a bargain to me. It does run Linux, not Windows, if that matters to you?
