You know, like the ones they use on 'have i got news for you?'.

i'll go first.

i subscribe to 'Grout' magazine. it is published 3 times a year. It's about mosaics and the first copy i received had a picture of DH with DS1 in the backpack at the opening of an exhibition.

Ah, never met his dad - he is a jolly nice chap though.

fattiemumma · 11/02/2009 10:14

British Archaeology Magazine.

Not very niche but terribly geeky (for those who think Time Team is dumbing down).

I love time team though.

My fave article of recent years was on how accurate the alters of various east Anglian churches are at facing East.

schneebly · 11/02/2009 10:20

My DH was featured in January's issues of...wait for it..

Greenkeeper International

www.bigga.org.uk/magazine/2814/a-rich-history-and-optimistic-future.html

that he mentioned MacDonalds though!

ContainsWildPerilousLuurve · 11/02/2009 10:23

I have also illustrated the front cover for New Law Journal a few times.

One brief required me to depict several elephants getting trapped on a planning application set up like a game of Mousetrap - all size A4 (WTF!).

schneebly · 11/02/2009 10:24

lol @ your brief How did it turn out?

MrsJohnCusack · 11/02/2009 10:28

in the UK it was 'Clarinet and Saxophone MAgazine' and 'Winds'

nothing out of the usual here. DH gets bloody Gramophone sent over at vast expense though

ContainsWildPerilousLuurve · 11/02/2009 10:33

[Here]

MrsJohnCusack · 11/02/2009 10:39

nice cover!
I've had some particularly fascinating articles and reviews published in Clarinet and Saxophone Mag.

mollyroger · 11/02/2009 10:40

not very geeky, but pretty sad ....we get Canal World - full of fascinating articles about the best inverters for your boat and the decline of the lesser spotted dibbler from our tow paths

StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 11/02/2009 10:47

Practical Poultry.

Jux · 11/02/2009 10:52

Fantastic cover, CWPL.

(Private Eye doesn't count, does it?)

schneebly · 11/02/2009 11:02

That is great CWPL!

MrsSchmaltzyMerryHenry · 11/02/2009 11:24

Aww, Thumbwitch! Be fair now! I was very impressed that such a lofty title was my first ever subscription (apart from a dubiously-chosen subscription to Glamour as a birthday present). Besides, dragonbutter let 'Psychologies' in, and you can get that everywhere! Pleeeeeease! I just... want... ...to belong!

Not sure that the food & style reference was about me...though I like the idea of being a stylish, glamorous foodie!

I'm okay, but GOT to start earning some money, which clearly tapping away on MN is not going to enable me to do. So I must away. How are you, me darl?

JollyPirate · 11/02/2009 11:25

I get British Archaeology as I am interested in ancient stuff.

OneFishTwoFish · 11/02/2009 11:26

Practical Fishkeeping!

JollyPirate · 11/02/2009 11:27

Good cover CPL - and I see we are both archaeology buffs.

themoon66 · 11/02/2009 11:29

Runners World
Vector (for DH)
White Dwarf (for DS)

dragonbutter · 11/02/2009 11:34

I was 'in' scotlands runner when i was 11 storming to the finish line after a 1 mile race, the first girl to win, ever.

i think i peaked to early.

NutterlyUts · 11/02/2009 11:52

Practical Poultry and Dog mags here

ThumbLoveWitch · 11/02/2009 11:53

oooh, OFTF - I used to get that when I had tropical fish!

MrsSMH - nice namechange! oh go on then, it is pretty impressive!
I know what you mean - I have work to do as well rather than playing on MN but the siren call of the Threads I'm On is difficult to ignore...

SoMuchToBits · 11/02/2009 11:57

I get the "Lifeboat" magazine, and ds gets "Storm Force" - he has had his illustrated story published in it!

mileniwmffalcon · 11/02/2009 12:04

ooh burnsified, i'm envious of your spinoff sub. i used to sub to selvedge the most impossibly poncetastic, but irresistably beautiful, mag about fabric. but i never actually had the time to read it - have a year's worth of back issues i still haven't got round to - so have reluctantly cancelled. am thinking of doing a textiles degree in which case i could completely justify it again [wistful]

The Quilters Guild magazine, which isn't as niche as some of the magazines on here.
