WMAs/MP3s .... please someone help me I'm going mad here!

to cut a very long story short.... I have a CD which I have burnt with lots of my favourite songs on. They are all in MP3 format. However, on my laptop, many of the songs are in Windows Media Player as WMAs. As my new car stereo only plays MP3s, I need to remember how I managed to put them onto a disc in MP3 format, or how I can convert the WMAs on my laptop into MP3s. I have downloaded some free conversion software, but it keeps asking if my files are DRM protected?

I'm sure I must be missing something, because if I've done this before it can't be that hard! Please can someone help me? I really don't fancy having to put all my CDs on to my laptop again as MP3s. Thank you very much oh geeky ones.

What happens if you say no they are not DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected? Where did you get these WMA files from - did you rip them from CDs yourself or buy them from a download service?

And what software are you using? I like MediaMonkkey, but there are some other good ones and plenty of rubbish.

Thanks for your reply. I don't have the option to say yes or no, it just suggests that might be the problem. These are my own CDs that I want to turn into varied discs to leave in the car. I'll try MediaMonkey as you've suggested and see if I have any luck with that. Thank you.

As they're from your CDs wouldn't it be simplest to just rip directly from the CDs to MP3?

I see you said you don't want to rip them again. Is that because there are too many of them?
