Try switching it off and on again Gorionine - that sorts most things out

Looks like your shift key is stuck - either physically or because of the accessibility options that are designed to help people who are eg typing with one hand - there are shortcuts to keep the shift or control keys down while you need them, usually pressing shift several times in a row or holding it down. The most common way to turn it off is to press two keys together, so try that first.

I was starting to have cold sweats at the idea to ask DH to sort it for me !

Glad it's fixed. If it was the accessibility options, you can change it so the the shortcut doesn't operate - look for Accessibility or Ease of Access in Control Panel, look for the keyboard section & uncheck the shortcuts for 'sticky keys' and 'filter keys'
