Geeky stuff

It won't keep me logged in.

When I log into MN and some other forums I go on I select for it to remember me and keep me logged in.

Since I updated my AVG anti-virus a few days ago this doesn't happen. It is really annoying me as I have to type it all in.

I did think it was the new MN doing it but then it has been doing it on everything.

Any ideas?

Don't know if you have solved this, but it might be handy for someone.

I don't think it is AVG, but below is what to do about that just in case.

Another cause can be that the mumsnet cookie is corrupted or you have two of them (it happens). The cure is to delete them and log on once more.

Typically you will find them in
C:\Documents and Settings\YourComputerName\Cookies

Delete any that say mumsnet in their name.

==============================================
AVG can delete cookies that it thinks are suspicious which would cause you to be logged out again if it deleted the mumsnet cookie. Mumsnet ones should be ok, but perhaps it's getting it wrong.

This is from the AVG FAG

  1. Resident Shield settings
  • open AVG Control Center
  • double-click on the AVG Resident Shield component
  • unmark the "Scan cookies" option
  1. AVG test settings
* please note, that you should set it separately for every AVG test that you use:
  • open AVG Test Center in Advanced Interface
  • open menu Tests-Test Manager
  • choose test - and use "Edit" button
  • on tab "Scan Details" you can disable the detection of cookies
