I used to be able to 'set' the background colour for each square

Now I can - well I probably can but I don't know how & neither do I know how to ask help

Does anyone know what I am on about?

Yes it's still there next to changing the font colour. It's usually on the displayed menu bar.

CarGirl · 01/02/2009 20:32

It's called fill colour and the icon is a paint pot being tipped as if to pour some paint out of it.

CarGirl · 01/02/2009 20:33

format, cells , patterns

KatyMac · 01/02/2009 20:33

But that only changes it for that time

What I want to do is change the base colour underneath

So instead of being yellow it will be forever blue

?

Sounds like you need to customise your blank worksheet?

KatyMac · 01/02/2009 20:37

No - you know when you go to the colour bit - with the little squares - saying what colour they change the white background to - well I want to change what each box stands for
(I accept that makes no sense, but it's what I want to do)

Are you sure it wasn't down as a look up table or something?

Really not got a clue, what did you use if for?

KatyMac · 01/02/2009 20:42

It is this fab timetable that Lapin wrote me

The colours were all custom on the last version of excel but they change on the new version & it's difficult to read

sounds like you will have to manually change them all I'm afraid - or change font colour?

RustyBear · 01/02/2009 20:48

Does this help?

KatyMac · 01/02/2009 20:48

Hmm manually won't work - I do the T/T weekly

There are no fonts

Oh poop - it is such a fab programme

Rustybear - you are a genius

I knew I was talking gobbledygook I am just so grateful you understood it

Cargirl - thanks for trying - I'm sorry I didn't explain it better
