And did you know about it?? Was baffled to find my fantastic 20MB connection has suddenly diminished to 5MB for no reason. Called virgin and was told that their 'unlimited' download blurb isn't strictly true and if you exceed their limits which are nowhere except the teeny tiny small print in your contract, your connection is 'throttled' for 5 hours.
Traffic management they say.
Am that I didn't know. they should tell you these things!
Poor slow puter.

Being with a virgin is not what it used to be

I just called them up asking for a free Wireless Router (should be £47.50) - lady I spoke to said "no, can't do it free but can do it for £20" so I said "ok", then she typed a bit then I said "actually I want it free or I'll just cancel it thanks" (my friend got one free today so I want one free!!) so she said "well I've put it through now so I'll just credit you £47.50 so you can have it free, by mistake.

Thank YOU nice Scottish lady at Virgin Media!

I did then ask for a free V+ box but she said I was pushing it!

I was going to sign up for their shiny and cool new 50MB broadband, but s'not worth it is it, if I can't actually use it much without being throttled!
What do they think people wanting 20MB are going to do with it if not download??
Stupid bloody people

I love free stuff. If you don't ask.... I will call again tomorrow and speak to the "customer retention team" as advised by someone at Virgin today. I want it and I want it FREEEEEEE

or I will go to Sky.

not really but they don't know that.

If you have them in your area you could change to BE-Unlimited

They are genuinely unlimited and the only ones I know about that are. All the rest think you're selfish/greedy to want to actually use the service you pay for.

Their max speed is 24mb, but only if you live virtually next door to the BT telephone exchange as they will explain to you. A typical BE download speed is more like 12-14mb.

Mine is 10mb because I am a long way from the exchange, but that still means I can download 1MB per second (3 or 4 seconds to download an MP3). All day every day if I choose.
