Bought DS a ps3 for christmas, and a hdtv (previously owned by sista) although tv is 2 years old you can connect hdmi cable via an adaptor. However when we do this there is no sound (you need to have sound says ds as it helps with momentum of game [dont ask me lol]). We have connected the ps3 to the tv using the red, white and yellow cables...have picture and sound but the picture is not as good as when it was connected using hdmi. Has anyone got any ideas about my problem (incidentally ps3 works perfect on main tv which is brand new) Have been told that the settings need adjusting but what would I change the settings to? Any help would be gratefully received....thanks

Use the HDMI cable and the red and white cables (which carry right and left channel sound), leave the yellow one (which carries video, but not as good quality as the HDMI cable) unconnected at both ends.
