Problem with my display screen

When i go to change my display screen it won't let me, all the options are greyed out. Just wonder if you clever people had any idea as to why this would be. Trying to fix it before hubby realises.

Need a bit more info than that - is this Windows XP, Vista, Mac, or something else? What options are greyed out - are you right-clicking on an empty bit of desktop, or using Control Panel or what?

Sorry forgot to come abck and check it is Windows XP and is when in go in via the control panel and then click desktop themes and then display screen.

sorry am rather dense at times with the pc.
