Does that questions make sense and can you do that? Just wanted a back up in case the laptop dies a death or something like that.

TIA

Just a little hijack here

But also, can you transfer them itunes music files to Windows Media player????

girlandboy · 27/12/2008 22:02

didn't mean to write "them" obviously!

SleighGirl · 27/12/2008 22:06

errr, but would windows media player then store them on the laptop or would I then be able to save a copy of them on a memory stick?

What I want to do is have a copy of the itunes/music we no longer have on cd on a memory stick, how can we achieve that (and tell me in words of less than one syllable and don't use computer jargon )

Blimey, I'm confused a bit with itunes myself.

I bought 4 tracks from Apple which went onto itunes yesterday. I put them on her new ipod. Trouble is, I want one of the tracks to put on my mp3 player (not an ipod), but I can't seem to move them from itunes. So same thing really, wanting to move the music from itunes onto another device/program.

I'm really stuck, but am thinking it can't be done.

Tomorrow I'm going to try and download a track from the Tesco digital site. If I buy the MP3 version of the song, then it is compatible with ipods.

Still looking for a bit of information about transferring to a memory stick for you.

Oooh, might have found it!

In itunes go into "file"
Go to "library"
Go to "export library"
If your memory stick is inserted then it may come up in "save as"

Give it a go!

need to buy a memory stick.......perhaps will try burning it onto a disc first!

Looks like it's just you and me SleighGirl!

Good luck!

other DRM free mp3 providers to consider are amazon.co.uk, play and 7digital. The last one offers the ability to download anything you have previously ordered ie if you manage to blew it up. Personally I don't use the apple music store for that very reason, its a right royal pain to get music off it.

maddoguk, you are speaking in a foreign language!!!!
