Internet not opening? Is it Virus?

Hi all. I cant open internet page although computer is connected. Dh convinced i picked up some virus. I only checked my yahoo email and looked around on mumsnet. Is it happened to anyone here? Could this be virus? Can anyone help? Currently using dh`s laptop.

What happens when you try. Does it go to the white 'Page Not Found' thing or does it crash in some way?

Are you sure the computer IS connected to the net.

For example can you get to the settings page of the router from that computer since that would suggest the problem wasn't at the PC end.

Try typing 213.161.73.140 in the address bar of Internet Explorer (where it would normally say www.mumsnet.com

If you have anti virus software try telling it to update. If it can't then it's not just the browser (internet explorer) that's having problems.

thank you. dh and i both have laptops and wireless router. this morning dh was logged in. i was out and about all morning when i tried this afternoon. it showed router is not connected to internet message.
dhs laptop is perfectly fine and im using now. dh unstalled wireless and installed it again. it shows computer>router>internet, all connected running smoothly but all i have is google homepage. when i try open any page mumsnet, yahoo i have internet cant open the page message. from google page it also dont open anything,too. dh tried everything so far, and now he took it to his friends dont know what happened. dh and friend thinks its virus.
we tried to update virus software online but it wont open anything. hope dh`s friend will sort it out.
