Spelling check - how do I turn it off?

Not sure why, but spell check has started coming on automatically in email (microsoft outlook). How do I turn it off please?

Do you mean it checks the words for you or highlights words that are wrong?

Highlights words that are abbreviated when I go to send an email. Never did it before, but would self-correct spelling as I typed, which I was happy to have on.

OK just looked at mine

you to into tools, select options, then the spelling tab. You can change your settings there by ticking/removing ticks from boxes.
