Will DK Learning Ladder cd-rom work on Vista?

Has anyone had experience with buying cd-roms that say on the box that they are XP compatible - I was hoping they might also work on Vista as I really want to get my children some educational computer programmes, but the choice for Vista is really limited.

I think once you have installed it you have an option to run in XP compatibility mode. You right click the icon on the desktop and select the mode you want it to run in. I've only done it once for someone else but it worked for software that was declared incompatible with Vista and he has had no crashes.
