Example alert message from Talktalk Assist and Go keeps popping up in right corner of screen. When I close it, it just keeps popping back up again a few seconds later. It's been doing this for weeks now, anyone know how do I get rid of it?

Thanks

Do you need to keep "Assist and GO" running? I don't have it so not sure if it's a seperate program you can uninstall in Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs.

You can keep it installed, but stop it running using msconfig (that way you can reenable it later if you want to)

Assuming you have XP go to the start menu and click Run. type msconfig and a box will come up.

Click on the startup tab, and remove the tick from the 'assist and go' item (I don't know precisely what it's called, but something like that.

Restart the computer and you will get a msg which tells you msconfig is running and do you want to keep it running. So no to having it run every time and that will be the end of it.

Thanks onager for your reply

I got as far as the startup tab but can't seem to find the 'assist & go' item, arghhh!

It probably has some obscure name in there, but you can just go to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it if you want.

Thanks onager. Have another question (sorry, am clueless about techy stuff!). If I uninstall it on the control panel will I lose the Assist & GO program for good? It comes in handy when our broadband is mucking about so wouldn't want to lose it completely.
