Can somebody please help me set up my new computer?

I bought everything from the same shop and was assured it was all compatible. The HD is HP and the monitor is samsung. It transpires the Monitor is a TV/monitor and I have followed all instructions, but all i'm getting cfrom the screen is wither the black and white fuzz or a ' no signal' message.
does it need an ariel?
Does it need tuning to a specific channel?
I'm really peed offw ith myself.
I need this up and running and haven't got a clue or anybody here tpo help me.

is the cable between the monitor and the base unit in properly? (the ends are blue with 2 little screws)

is the power cable in the base unit? are any lights coming on when you switch it on?

The cables are in properly as I believe.
Both units are working (lights etc)
I might unscrew the cables and try again though, maybe I haven't pushed them in enough??

I think it is just that you need to change the channel. Not as in BBC 1 etc, but it will have choices for inputs like AV1, AV2, HDMI,PC, etc and probably won't show anything until you select PC.

It will only need an aerial if you want to watch ordinary TV on it. Probably worth trying it with an aerial later as some kinds update their internal software over the air, but it will work with the PC without one.

You may also have to install monitor drivers from a CD, but that can probably wait until you get it working too and may not be needed.

Do you have the model number?
