anyone got an iriver mp3 player?

I bought one about 5 years ago spent at least 150 on it, but it has a tiny memory - onlyholds about 40 songs.
recently seen irivers on ebay for about £50 which hold about 1400 songs,
what i was wondering was would the sound quality be as good do you think? My one is incredible... just wondering if a cheaper yet more advanced player can sound as good?

Dh has a 30gb iriver which he swears by; it's about 4 years old and he loves it. Wants one with a bigger capacity but only financial options are ipods which he refuses to have crossing the threshold.

You would think ... doesn't hold his entire (ever expanding) collection and he doesn't like having to anticipate his mood ... because clearly 30gb won't cover the spectrum
