McAfee wont update, so I cant scasn the pc, something about DAT?

I truly am a technophobic, I dont understand all this at all, is there anyone there who can guide me? prettyplease

Don't have McAfee, but with AVG the servers are sometimes busy so we can't update. Try again after a bit and if it fails again write down the exact error message.
