Was going to buy Mario at the Olympics but have read mixed reviews. I don't really want a driving one (yet) so just wondered what you'd recommend for DS, 7, and DD, 5? TIA.

ours like 'playground' as it has lots of mini-games and challenges and the chance to go around the playground collecting marbles to trade up for stickers on your report card

My DS,9 and DD,5 both enjoy the Mario Kart one - it comes with a steering wheel attachment.
Sorry just realised you dont want the driving one.

Sports works well for this age. Or Lego Star Wars - probably bit tricky for the 5-year-old, though.

Lego star wars. It's fab. Boom blocks is also good.

We have Mario at the Olympics, it is quite difficult and ds(9) has problems with it. You can get light sabres for Star Wars by the way

have bought this as it is cheap and cheerful

Wee sports.

Not cooking mama - DS got it Tuesday for his birthday and it is soooo hard!

We joined a rental company so we could try before buying!

DS (8) loves Super Mario Galaxy (altho struggles a bit), and the lego ones (Star Wars, Indiana Jones). There's another one that's fun - where you mess about holding the controller in different ways - can't remember what it's called tho!

DD (5) has only really got to grips with the basic sports package

mario kart is really good esp for that age quite easy
with steering wheel atachment.

flatmouse · 20/11/2008 13:23

It was Wario Ware Smooth Moves (just looked it up)

wannaBe · 20/11/2008 13:29

sports is good.

Even I can play bowling and golf (am blind) so shouldn't be too much of a problem for a 5/7 year old .

WingsofaAngel · 20/11/2008 13:35

We got sports with it which is good fun.
We bought Carnival which is alot of games that you would have at a traditional Village fate.
