Wii - another question - controllers v nunchucks

What's the difference between a controller and a nunchuck please? I've ordered the basic Wii console which comes with a controller and have also bought the play package with another controller included, but am at a loss what you do with a nunchuck!!! Can anyone enlighten me please?

The nunchuck is an "extra" controller - it joins onto the main controller with a cable, and you play with the main one in your right hand and the nunchuk in your left hand. It's good for things like boxing where you need to use both hands at once.

Maggie - I have done the exact same thing! Am still chewing my fingernails as to whether I should buy another Nunchuk. Decisions decisions!!

You need the nunchuck for lots of games, in fact pretty much all of the ones we have need it (apart from tennis etc).

It's a pain, but you'll really need as many nunchucks as you have controllers.

I have also bought Mario & Sonic at the olympic games game! I bet I need another nunchuk for that don't I?

Thanks for that. So for Wii sports, you really do need a nunchuck (she writes not having a clue what she's talking about!)?

I'm a bit divided on the nunchuk - it isn't used for ALL games and some have the option of playing with or without it.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games - you can play that without the nunchuk, easier with it though.

Wii Sports, the only thing I think it IS used for is boxing really. Not the other sports. Cooking Mama doesn't use it. Scarface does need a nunchuk(NOT one for children though, that!). Wii play doesn't use it at all. Don't think Mario Kart uses it either.

Think that's all the games we have atm so can't comment further sorry!
