Yesterday both me and mum got spam email in our inbox. Spam filter put it into junk in both cases which was good.

One thing that worries us both though is that in the bit where it says who the email is from it has our own email address....

Any ideas why that is and how they do it?

That's not unusual. It's called "spoofing" your email address but isn't normally anything to worry about when it's on email to you, or not more than you worry about normal spam email.

Happened to me too yesterday, ..how do you stop it happening.... and are the emails being sent to your contact list??

You can't stop it happening. The way email works, anybody can try and pretend to be anybody else when they send an email.

The only way emails get sent to your contact list is if your PC gets infected with a Trojan or your online email account is hacked.
