Ipod or MP4?

I want to treat my sister to an MP4 player and was just wondering if this is any good or do I just spend an extra £50 on an ipod?

I think that with gadgets you should always go for the best, so I'd go for the i-pod.

Ok so.... if I buy an Ipod - can I put my music from Windows media player onto it - or will it be incompatible?
