I'm currently selling one on ebay and have a potential bidder........however they've asked me a question which I'm completely stuck on.

It's a Sharp UX P410, and they want to know

"does this fax machine use 'fax roll' or do you have to buy different types of ink and paper"

I have the instruction manual with it, but have no knowledge at all about them (it was bought for our business - which failed - and I only ever used it as a phone, exH did all the technical stuff to do with it.

Check inside - does it have a roll of heat sensitive film (matt on one side, shiny on t'other) inside, or does it have an ink cartridge?

It's all about how it prints to the paper.

The Sharp UXP410H is a fantastic entry level plain paper fax machine. With its 50 sheet paper capacity, 10 sheet Automatic Document Feeder and 24 page memory, it?s capable of meeting any business?s needs and with its simple design it will look the part too.

It takes normal A4 sheets. Theones that used fax rolls/different ink/paper were around in the late 80's.

Best thing to do is google the make and add review and see what pops up.

ok - sorry went away to list other stuff that I was in the middle of doing.

I've googled - and got conufsed

I've opened it up - I can't see an ink cartridge (or what I would describe as one in there ). Several round/roller bits in there (sorry not very technical ) - there was a roll of something that looked black - but didn't want to go poking around really.

So it's it possible that it's a "fax roll" - but uses normal paper (well I know it uses normal paper)???
